As of 4/25/24 my PR for a 2K is 6:55.8. Work to drop a few more seconds off that as my goal is to be solidly below the 6:50's.
On 1/14/24 I did a 22:19.7 6K, on 9/27/23 I managed a 20:31.8 5K, on 3/20/24 I did 7680 meters in 30 mins, on 1/21/24 I did 325 meters in 1 minute at the U19 selection camp, and maxed at 580 watts in 10 strokes on 11/27/23. See the picture below of the 5K and 1 min piece.
I started rowing in middle school at a NorCal crew summer camp. I immediately fell in love with the sport and have been on the team since then. 5 years and 10 seasons later I still love to row.
My father and aunt began rowing in high school at the Lake Merritt Rowing Club in Oakland, CA. In High School, he finished 2nd in the state his junior year for single sculling. He continued rowing into college at Northwestern University and after as an open water rower on the SF Bay. My aunt rowed at the University of Pennsylvania, Capital Rowing Club in Washington, DC (master's) and Miami Beach Rowing Club (master's). My father, aunt, and now myself have all had the opportunity to row in the Head of the Charles.
I've been lucky enough to compete with NorCal crew at the varsity level since the start of my freshman year in high school. I've raced all over Northern and Southern California as well as in Washington State and Massachusetts. The two biggest race highlights for me was getting invited to the National Championship in Florida and winning a Gold Medal at the Head of the Charles in 2023.
I attended U19 US Rowing ID Camp in January 2024 and did 325 meters in 1 minute. A few months later I received an invitation to attend the U19 Summer Selection Development Camp which is part of the US Rowing Pathways program. I am very excited to be heading to Chula Vista this summer to train with some of the best young rowers in the country.
I have been working with Sam Leahey and the coaches at Precision Sport Science in Redwood City, CA for the past year to improve my strength and fitness. I discovered just how much fun it was to push a weight sled around - seriously I enjoy it. I'm up to over 505 lbs on the weight sled and can bench pull 110, bench press 110, and deadlift 270. The focus has been on improving as a well-rounded athlete rather than just maxing the numbers, but it's been a fun experience working with a professional fitness training staff and seeing my progress.
In February 2024 I signed my Letter of Intent to row for Oregon State University starting in the Fall of 2024. I'm very excited to join the team in Corvallis and see how I can help OSU continue its long history of success. Go Beavs!
This is my Mixed Para 4 on the way to our first-place finish at the 2023 Head of the Charles. I didn't even meet one of these rowers until I arrived in Boston so I am super proud we rowed a hard race through some miserable conditions to bring home gold medals.
